2026 elections are coming. Lean Left along with IMRV have been implementing a multi-year strategy to flip North Carolina blue at every level of government. And we mean business. It’s going to take you and any friend you can sign up to join us. We need your referrals!

Republican Thom Tillis is not running for his US Senate seat. However the good news is that popular former NC Governor Roy Cooper, Democrat, is running. We have a really good chance to win a senate seat. Are you ready to help?

Our focus is fundraising for one of our most important local partners, Down Home North Carolina, a well-vetted group which focuses on multi-racial small town and rural areas (Vermonters know how important that is), knocking on doors and connecting with NC voters about critical issues that affect their communities. With an open US Senate seat and multiple competitive house and legislative races, early organizing in NC will be crucial for turning back the tide of MAGA extremism and returning sanity to our politics. We can do this. We need to win elections and that’s where you can play your part.

Share this info with friends and ask them to help gain a Democratic seat in the senate.

By 5:10pm Friday night, the planning crew along with the worker bees were feeling jittery. Would folks come out on a beautiful Vermont day to bid on art? And the answer came back - OMG YES!

Laura clicked in about 165 folks.

VT State Treasurer Mike Pieciak (pronounced PeaCheck) spoke about the fund he helped to create - The Vermont Immigration Legal Defense Fund - with cheers and claps from the large crowd. If you haven’t met Mike, we highly recommend you reach out to him.

The bar was hopping, Peace Burger was busy serving smash burgers and the bids were flying! So many thanks to afterthoughts for donating the amazing space. Granville Daze played music all night pro bono - original songs with current political lyrics.

In just four weeks, neighbors, volunteers, and organizers from across the state brought this grassroots vision to life. Members of Indivisible Mad River Valley were among those who participated. We were united by our shared love for democracy and one another.

Along Route 7 in New Haven, the show of support was powerful. Enthusiastic people lined the road, carried signs, and honked and waved as the flag caravan passed.

The ceremonial flag was owned by Lyle F. Hurtubise, a WWII veteran and Vermont dairy farmer who landed on Utah Beach on D-Day. On June 14, 2025, that flag—and the one that draped his casket—represented not just Lyle, but all veterans and Americans standing up for civil rights, freedom, and justice.

The relay passed through 33 towns with peaceful gatherings in village greens, on mountain trails, and in front yards. What we saw that day wasn’t chaos or division—it was courage, community, and quiet strength.

We didn’t just carry a flag. We carried each other.

Thank you to everyone who participated, cheered, donated, and stood with us. Democracy only works when we do.

Thank you for all who stood up,

Indivisible Mad River Valley thanks everyone who showed up to express their outrage at the current administration on Saturday March 1, while JD Vance and family were on a ski vacation at Sugarbush.

This peaceful protest was filled with the passion of approximately 1, 000 people who lined the streets in Waitsfield. Indivisible members from across the state, members of 50501, and everyday folks, answered our call to use their voices against the Trump/Vance/Musk administration. Other groups and individuals also engaged in protest actions such as the car parade, protesting at Sugarbush, putting signs on their property, and more. We all said no to their hate-filled agenda, their lining the pockets of billionaires while dismantling essential government services, and abandoning Ukraine while allying with Russia.

We hope that more and more people decide to speak up. We urge you to call your Congressional delegation, continue to protest, and speak with family, friends and neighbors about this administration’s actions that harm everyday people .

And we call upon Sugarbush and other area businesses to remember that what brings people to our beautiful valley is the natural environment and amenities we offer. As this administration strips the EPA, National Park Service and other departments of money and talent, our environment will suffer. Please use whatever power and influence you have to protect the governmental services that help protect our landscape so we can continue to attract visitors and residents.

We asked and you answered with a huge Vermont showing.

A Practical Guide to Democracy on the Brink

Here’s a brief summary of what we know about Indivisible National’s Gameplan. Link to the full Guide below.

The three “big plays” will be:

Indivisibles will all throw in to say NO to the Project 2025 agenda pushed by the White House and Congress. We’ll stop what we can and pick strategic fights to drive national backlash to win in 2026.

Indivisibles will play hardball wherever we’ve got Democrats in local, city, or state office – pushing them to block, delay, and challenge MAGA’s attacks.

Indivisibles will work to protect and win elections – defending against election deniers in swing states and turning all that national backlash into an electoral majority coalition that delivers big wins in 2026. The winners of the 2026 swing state elections will administer the presidential election in 2028!

Additionally, Indivisibles must organize to protect communities that will come under threat.
